About Indigo Dyed Fabric
Indigo is a dye different than any other. It is obtained from the indigo plant species, which are native to the tropics. It is among the oldest dyes to be used for textile dyeing and printing. Fabrics are dyed in a living fermentation process.

Indigo does not strongly bond to fiber, therefore wear and repeated washing slowly remove the dye.

Due to the nature of dyed cloth, over time, the brightness of the color will fade. Some of the dye will be released in the water during washing, or simply rub off when touched or in contact with other surfaces.

In order to delay the fading process and maintain its color, we recommend washing the fabric in cold water instead of hot. After the washing cycle, tumble dry the cloth immediately in a dryer, as wet fabric allows the dye to bleed. Hanging clothes outside to dry is energy efficient and certainly makes them smell fresh, but the sun will eventually bleach out dark colors, so you may want to dry them in the dryer.
